My Mom, My Best Friend.

I know I've already blogged about my parents before, but I'm going to talk a little about my mom.

To start, she is THE strongest woman I've ever met in my life. Even when she's having a rough day with me, she puts my needs before hers. She's the best parent I've ever known. I never mind helping her out because my dad's not home until 11 at night, so I know she could use the help. We make a great team.

We have our girls days every four weeks. We go get our hair done, go shopping, then we go get groceries and the things we actually have to buy, not what we think we can't live without.
She is a badass woman, I tell you what. She doesn't need anyone in her life who isn't going to benefit her. She knows how strong she is and how independent. Two traits I wish I could figure out myself.

When someone is on her nerves, she knows when to walk away. She knows that talking when she's mad will get her nowhere fast. She works in the hospital in Ellsworth, and she always says "Never send an E-mail when you're mad." She says that's the worst thing you can do, because you can never take it back.

I know that when I need advice, I can always go to her to talk. If I need something that's really important, she will work her hardest to get me that one thing. No matter what. Also, she treats me with tough love. She loves me, and she proves it to me, but she wants me to work for what I get. She doesn't want me to be one of those kids that "mooches" off their parents for their entire life. She wants me to make something of myself, and she wants me to work hard at it. She expects me to have good grades, because I'm capable of it. And the best part is when I get a good grade on something and I tell her, she tells me how proud of me she is. Sometimes she will even reward me when we have our girls days.
