I feel like you always have one parent that you are closer to. That one parent you go to first if you messed up, or if you have a problem, or if you want money. For me, my mom is that person. My dad and I don't have the best relationship, we never see eye to eye unless it's about hunting or softball.
Some days I feel like he only ever wants anything to do with me when he can tell me I'm doing something wrong, or to ask me if my room is clean. He wants me to respect him, but it's so hard when half the time he is intoxicated. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is constantly drinking. I know, I know, you are supposed to respect adults, but how do I respect someone that doesn't have respect for me?
And then there are the times like recently my dad found a car he thought I'd like and one day got a loan for me so I could pay it off. He has always said that no matter what, he wouldn't pay for my gas but he would pay for my insurance, and help me some with paying for my car. Well, two weeks ago I got my car and I have got gas twice, both times filling it from half. Both times my parents have wanted to pay for my gas. Well, I don't have a job until April so it's hard to say no.

Taking money from my parents is one of the hardest things for me. I feel guilty. I know there are parents who buy their kids vehicles, or whatever they want. That's fine, and I don't mind that or think of you differently because they are spoiled, I just don't get that. I feel bad when my parents pay for my gas. On Sunday, my mom wanted to pay for my gas because it had gone up and she didn't want me to spend my gas money. GAS-MONEY is there for a reason, but god love her.. She is the best.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your dad. Sounds like you don't see eye-to-eye right now. Give it time. In time, he'll come around or you'll come around or you'll both come around. Relationships take time, and sometimes they take change too.
As far as your writing goes, it's excellent. You're well spoken and easy to relate to. In terms of the layout, space down a little more often. Visually break up your writing with more frequent paragraph breaks. That may help the readability here.
Haha this is good i really enjoyed this. I really feel like having a mom there for you is one of the best things in the world.
